Canon EOS 30D 8.2MP Digital SLR Camera Review
This camera offers a number of well thought of enhancements over the 20D it replaces. The sensor and processor are constant that the image quality won't differ one iota, however an enlarged LCD monitor, spot metering, vastly improved shutter life and ISO displayed on the viewfinder are worthy enhancements simply justifying the upgrade from the 20D. If one is considering an upgrade from the 10D my recommendation would be to positively opt for it. The 20D and 30D each have the "instant on" feature and this represents an enormous improvement over the 10D. The 10D was felt by several to possess focusing problems and though I didn't have any important drawback with my 10D in that regard the 30D represents a considerable improvement during this space. Canon still isn't providing (in this worth range) a camera with eye management or forty five focusing points, however the 9 focusing points that ARE offered are well placed and also the camera focuses quickly and surely leading to tack sharp photos.
The pictures this camera takes are merely beyond belief. superbly saturated, tack sharp, NO, and that i mean NO noise at four hundred or below and barely discernible noise all the high to 1600 ISO. For all sensible functions 1600 ISO is a wholly usable speed leading to fantastic photos. What Canon has accomplished in reducing noise and increasing pixel density proves that they're, for now, the technology leader. Canon for now could be doing a higher job at controlling noise than Nikon though Nikon with the D200 comes pretty darn shut except at 800 ISO and higher than.
The new flash system, ETTL II, offered 1st on the 20D may be a vast improvement over previous systems. The in camera processing leads to exceptional and pleasing photos. This camera encompasses a fastened continuous shooting rate that wasn't gift on the 20D. The megapixels keep constant at eight.2 million pixels. several could also be disappointed that the MP count wasn't increased and feel that maybe a nominal increase to 10MP would have higher justified an upgrade. And whereas this camera offers no improvement in dynamic vary i believe we will expect to visualize such enhancements in future offerings from Canon and also the alternative makers.
